The Consumers Union in the United States, known for their tests on cars and washing machines, has tested several different brands of condoms to find the most reliable and also compared them to other methods of birth control.
The best condom, according to the results of the test, is the Durex Extra Sensitive Lubricated Latex which held up even under the most rigorous of tests. The worst condom is the one distributed by Planned Parenthood.
This condom burst during the test that saw the condoms filled with air. The Union said: “Condoms remain the only family planning and pregnancy prevention method that can help prevent sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV, which causes AIDS."
