Canada has taken the world junior ice hockey championships for the 11th time in the tournament’s history – beating Russia 6-1 in a dominant display. It’s the first world juniors title for Canada since 1997.
Russia beat them in the finals in 2002 and 2003 and they suffered an upset against the USA last year in Finland. Jeff Carter and Ryan Getzlaf each scored a goal each and two assists. Patrice Bergeron was named the tournament’s outstanding player.
Canada finished the entire tournament 41-7 overall goals in six games.
