NBA Players To Donate Funds For UNICEF

Arn Tellem, agent for basketball players Jermaine O'Neal and Tracy McGrady, came up with an idea for providing help with the relief effort for the tsunami victims: have players donate $1,000 for every point made during Thursday's and Friday's games.

"I first talked about it with Jermaine and Tracy right before New Year's. We talked about different ideas, and that's how it started" said Tellem. Besides O'Neal and McGrady, five other NBA players are taking part in this $1000-a-point relief effort.

Besides O'Neal and McGrady, Kobe Bryant (Lakers),Bob Sura (Houston Rockets), Jalen Rose(Toronto Raptors), Pau Gasol and Mike Miller (Memphis Grizzlies) will also participate. Tellem hopes to raise about $250,000 for UNICEF.
