Marine Hassoun Deserts Military Again

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. -- Cpl. Wassef Ali Hassoun, who disappeared from Iraq last year and subsequently charged with desertion, has once again deserted the military. This time from Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Hassoun was due back from leave on Tuesday but never showed up. He was listed as a deserter on Wednesday.

Civilian police have the authority to arrest Hassoun and return him to the military if located. Although he was born in Lebanon, his U.S. address is listed in the state of Utah.
