Ancient Jarawa Tribe Alive And Well After Tsunami

After the Asian tsunami it was feared that ancient tribes living on the isolated Indian islands of Andaman and Nicobar could have been wiped out. The fate of the Jarawa tribe is now known. Seven tribesmen have met with government officials.

"We are all safe after the earthquake. We are in the forest in Balughat," Ashu told the officials in broken Hindu. The meeting took place in a restricted forest area in the north of the South Andaman Island.

From the ancient Jarawa, Great Andamanese, Onges, Sentinelese and Shompen tribes it is estimated that only 400 to 1000 members are left. The generations date back approximately 70,000 years according to DNA studies.

I bet they noticed the actions of all the animals around them heading for higher ground. I heard that not even one rabbit died during the disaster.

Maybe they were supposed to be wiped out

all civilizations and tribes get their turn and then go the way of Old Yeller. Ancient cavemen did, most of the american indians did, and we will too, someday.
