Nelson Mandela Loses Son

Former South African President, Nelson Mandela lost his last son today. Makgatho Mandela, 54, died at a private Johannesburg hospital. Makgatho Mandela had been in hospital for the past year with an undisclosed illness.

Nelson Mandela, 86, who had cancelled appointments to be near his son, lost his first son in 1969 to a car accident, he was in prison at the time for anti-apartheid activities.

Mandela has 4 other children, all girls, from 2 marriages.
