Richard Gere Has Palestinians Scratching Their Heads

Hollywood actor Richard Gere is appearing in a TV commercial being broadcast to Palestinians urging them to get out and vote in Sundays leadership elections. It appears that he may have overstepped his sphere of influence, since few know who he is.

In the appeal, Gere says "Hi, I'm Richard Gere and I'm speaking for the entire world. We're with you during this election time. It's really important. Get out and vote". Palestinians are less than impressed, especially when told he is an American.

One factory worker said "We don't need the Americans' intervention. We know who to elect. Not like them - they elected a moron".

His Agent said, "Oh yeah your huge in Palestine"

he would have been better off draping himself in an american flag and promising to set himself on fire if the turnout was above 80 precent. Come on Richard how about a little fire to match that burning feeling in your belly.

how these over-inflated nobodies really believe that their shallow fame is global. Erm, no, the world is not the US. Just as many ppl globally watch Bollywood movies, nobody expects an American to have ever heard of any of their equally-famous Indian actors. I wish such ppl would keep their feet on the ground ffs.

  Gere is a pompous asshole

I didn't ask him to tell the palestinians anything on my behalf, so where does he get the gall to say "Hi, I'm Richard Gere and I'm speaking for the entire world."

The man has been in all of one decent movies (the mothman prophecies, and as much as I hate Gere, that movie was pretty good) and he hardly exists in America. With any luck, this'll go as a message to the other asshole celebrites in our country and they'll get a second look at their egos.

Realistically though, they'll probably say "Gere failed, but I can succeed! I'm Brad Pitt! Everyone knows me!"

I hate hollywood.

ok, ill give you he isn't the best actor, but he's certainly been in a few decent movies, come on including such titles as; american gigalo, an officer and a gentleman, first knight, pretty woman, the jackal to name a few..

now as far as him talking on my behalf for those dumbass ragheads to go vote, i really dont give a damn.. everyone else including americans and non try to give me their opinions ... why can't i give them mine?????

anyways.... whatever..

"american gigalo, an officer and a gentleman, first knight, pretty woman, the jackal to name a few.."

gigolo was alright, officer & gentleman was bad. I'd like to kill everyone involved in First Knight for their bastardization of the Arthur legend. Pretty Woman sucked.

I'll grant you though, The Jackal was pretty harsh.

  AMERICAN IDIOTS!

(Well not all Americans, just some, before you start flaming!)

If you had any brains you'd know that that commercial wouldn't work! WHAT WILL WORK, however, is Richard Gere claiming he's American and URGING them to NOT vote!

That'll get them moving!
