Flood Chaos in the UK

High winds and torrential rain continue today in many parts of the UK, with widespread flooding as a result. Parts of Wales, Scotland and northern England have been severely hit, with homes being evacuated and dozens of flood warnings in place.

A P&O ferry ran aground off the Scottish coast, and the 100 passengers are still stranded on the vessel. Winds caused 10 lorries to turn over on major motorways. Fire officials described the weather in Cumbria as the worst for 40 years.

No casualties have been reported but a spokesman for Cumbria Fire Service said their resources were stretched to the limit with the flooding, "We're pumping it out of one door and it's coming in through another."

  Is it...
the aftermath of the Tsunamiin the Indian Ocean?

  No. It's clearly....
... that bloody butterfly flapping it's wings in Argentina that did it.
Them Argies have always wanted revenge for the Falklands so they trained the butterfly to flap in a particular way. I say Nuke them.

  Choas theory
 aside...

Who's going to bitch for the U.K. to get foreign aid?

Mhh?

Where's the outrage here?

You won't hear a thing.

It'll be ignored by the world media, the U.N. will remain perfectly mum, and of course this is all to be expected.

But the U.K. can give to everyone else, of course.

Since we all agree about this line of thinking anyway, and being our country is so poor in relation to your own (dollar!) -- what do you say about giving the people of Florida a bit of end-of-cleanup assistance with our many numerous hurricanes?

After all, you can afford to send to Asia, and take damage from your own flooding...

why not help us at the same time, too?

"why not help us at the same time, too?"

Why give aid to a country that spent already over $ 200 billion on the war in Iraq?

  hah...
yea... we forgot about UK! we should help them! oh wait...no one died...
and 155,000 people are dead on the other side sounds like a good comparsion to me!
stop crying about other countries getting more help than others.
Its like those retards that are crying about taxes being spent on useless things...and if they didn't know it was even being spent on it they wouldn't notice a damn thing, they just want to bitch and moan because they have nothing better to do.

  Who's fault is it?
I myself would make sure I would not buy a house below sea level, or espcially not on flood plains. Its just asking for trouble.

There one was one guy who got a great deal on a house wanted to know why it was so cheap and was told, because of flood plains, he bought it, got flooded and tried to sue the agency ¬_¬
