Mystery Al Qaeda 'Torture' Plane May Be CIA-Run

The owners of a Gulfstream V executive jet apparently used to transport Al Qaeda prisoners from country to country including Egypt and Syria where many have complained of torture, remains a mystery, although the CIA is thought to be responsible.

The name Leonard Thomas Bayard appears on the annual report of Bayard Foreign Marketing, a seemingly 'ghost' company which many believe to be a CIA front. No information on the company or the owner is available.

Falsifying corporate data in this way is an offence which can lead to imprisonment and fines according to a spokesperson for Oregon Secretary of State Bill Bradbury.

  Soft News?

Shouldn't this be classified as Hard News?

  Soft News I would think

It doesn't contain any hard evidence, although the story is intruiging.....

  Yeah

I couldn't classify it as Hard News because its a story made up of 'ifs' and 'buts'. The story definately has substance to it and the material that I couldn't put into the story makes it a lot clearer - the plane is run by the CIA using a front company with a mythical board of directors. From reading other websites, there are stories dating back to last September detailing the number of countries and the number of Al Qaeda that have been involved. It was described somewhere as the 'best open secret' of recent times, or words to that effect.

  "Soft methods" perhaps?

Chances are in our 'politically correct' environment we are being entirely too 'soft' in the interrogation methods used.

Personally, I favour more vigorous 'inducedments' to divulge information, and perhaps even to renounce commitments to terrorism. Al Qaeda swine and other insurgents don't fall under the Geneva Accords anyway. These scumbags want to play outside the rules, yet want to be pampered as if they were under their protection. It's nonsense!

What, are they gonna fine and imprison the CIA?

  A permenant fix

We just need to outsource all torture to Egypt or anywhere that evades US law.
Torture has to be used against these guys. I am all for it.

  Torture

Unfortunately torture has proved to be counter-productive. A victim will admit to anything if he's having electrodes applied to his extremeties.

I read the story of a British lorry driver who drove from the UK to Morocco, not knowing that some illegal contraband was hidden in the back of his vehicle. The Moroccans found the stuff and tortured him so badly that he admitted to knowingly smuggling the goods. So what was gained? The wrong person was thrown into jail while the real criminal remained free.

How would we gain if the same outcome was occuring with suspected terrorists? The only winners are the ones who torture, since they're probably getting a kick out of being purely evil.
