Officials Release Hundreds from Abu Ghraib

230 people have been released from the Abu Ghraib prison in the west of Baghdad, bringing the total number of those released to 490 so far in 2005. A total of 9,000 prisoners were released in 2004.

A statement read: "A review board consisting of six Iraqi officials and three senior officers of the Multi-National Force determined that these individuals no longer pose a security threat." Currently, 7,100 are being held at Abu Ghraib and another.

Of those, 350 are said to be non-Iraqi nationals.

  Hmmm
"these individuals no longer pose a security threat"

With all the insurgency going on now these individuals are now harmless? Hmmm Perhaps they just don't want to say that these people were innocent bystanders? The Iraqi officials sound like they are learning a lot from our government... but then again their government is our government...

  More wasted money and time!!
And the US have finally given up on the WMD hunt which cost $200bn and who knows how many lives? - And for what exactly??? - Nothing.

Hundreds of people imprisoned in a camp built by Halliburton, without trial, without charge and then they get released. And there are plans to get Halliburton to expand the size of the camp with contracts worth in excess of $25million.

How much bullshit does it take for a nation to realize it's getting severely screwed over?
