Spanish Football Federation Vows to Get Tough on Racism

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has vowed to get tough on racial problems following Atletico Madrid's game with Real Madrid. Racist chanting, particularly aimed at Brazilian full-back Roberto Carlos, who plays for Real Madrid, marred the game.

"The Sports Council, the (RFEF), the Football League and the Spanish Players Association want to reiterate their condemnation," read a statement. "They also want to reaffirm their determination to take tough action against any evidence of racism.."

The Madrid incident followed racist chanting aimed at England's Shaun Wright-Phillips and Ashley Cole during a friendly match against Spain last November. Spain's national coach, Luis Aragones, is also under investigation for racist comments.

  Hmmm...
I saw this game (cheering for debutante countryman Jesper Grønkjær) and noticed the boos at Roberto Carlos.

The commentators mentioned that the Atletico fans don't like him and that in Spain actually only Real Madrid fans like him.

If the boos were racist, why didn't they boo Ronaldo, the Atletico centre back a.o. colored players? I don't get it.

because evidently the Spanish fans in question
are too moronic to be consistent in their bigotry.
