Software Pirate Gets 18 Months

Software pirate Kishan Singh of Maryland has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for operating a web site offering paid-access to cracked and pirated software.

Singh was offering big-name business title software from Microsoft and Adobe, among others, with a value of about $120K.

"Evidence revealed that thousands of pirated software programs were downloaded from Singh's web site by users from around the world during the six-month period charged." said a US prosecutor's office spokesman.
