No Australian Open for Capriati Due to Injury

The third leading female tennis player has pulled out of the Australian Open. Justin Henin-Hardenne and Kim Clijsters have already pulled out and now Jennifer Capriati has joined them because of a shoulder injury.

Capriati, who won the Australian Open in 2001 and 2002, is thought to have picked up the injury in November during the Advanta Championships at Philadelphia. She had already cancelled an exhibition match in December and the Sydney International.
