Rita Marley, the wife and former backup singer for deceased reggae star Bob Marley, plans to exhume his remains in Jamaica and rebury them in Ethiopia which is a spiritual place to rastafarians. She says: "It is part of Bob's own mission."
The Ethiopian government and church officials are in agreement with the plan to bury Marley in Shashemene which is home to a group of Rastafarians that former Ethiopian emperor Haile Selassie gave land to.
Rita Marley adds: "Bob's whole life is about Africa, it is not about Jamaica." On February 6th, Bob Marley's birthday, there will be a concert to raise money for poor Ethiopian families. A month-long "Africa Unite" celebration will also occur.
