President Bush told a round-table of 14 reporters that he now regrets some of his more famous tough-talking phrases. He had previously admitted no mistakes. In particular he regrets saying "Bring 'em on" when Iraqis were attacking U.S. troops.
"'Bring 'em on' is a classic example, when I was really trying to rally the troops ... those words had an unintended consequence. It kind of, some interpreted to be defiance in the face of danger," Bush said.
The president also said he regrets making a vow to get Osama bin Laden "dead or alive." He admitted that his wife, Laura, questioned his choice of words after his speech. "...You've got to be mindful of the consequences of the words," Bush said.
