Bush Haters Sporting Blue Bracelets

A few Americans who did not vote for Bush are selling blue bracelets on the internet to signify that they voted for Kerry. NYC native Berns Rothchild got the idea from her mother who mentioned Lance Armstrong's "LIVESTRONG" bracelets.

While it is noted that these bracelets probably won't sell as much as Armstrong's ones do, Rothchild has sold 300, Brenda McKnight has sold 4,000 and Laura Adams has sold 3,300. Adams' bracelets state "HOPE." McKngight's say "I DID NOT VOTE 4 BUSH."

The bracelets sold by Rothchild state: "COUNT ME BLUE." All three bracelet sellers are donating proceeds to causes like Save the Children and UNICEF. To combat his daughter, John Rothchild is selling "COUNT ME RED" bracelets to support Bush.

  1984 anyone...?

What's the matter with wearing these stupid bracelets? Here in the Netherlands we already got orange "Respect2All" ones to make stand against street-violence and blue ones for the Tsunami victims. Both were not a big succes fortunately. What's next, pink ones to support gay people? Bracelet wearers should get a life.

And what exactly does that have to do with 1984 anyway? It seems like every news item these days has someone going "OmG 1984!!1!"

  Its because people are embarrased

Look - the US are the most hated people in the world right now and it is because they elected Bush - one of the msot despised leaders the country has ever known for his senseless war on Iraq and for his cutting of diplomatic ties with pretty much everyone. Many people believe he is actually pretty much a threat to world unity and it is quite clear that those that voted for him were incredibly short sighted and/or stupid people.

Thus comes the band - for an American to point out that 'he' or 'she' was not one of these idiots and thus the world can go 'oh sorry mate'. Course theres the other idiots who proudly are displaying the fact they voted for the monkey - masochists.

Actually, there is a pink one. The proceeds go to breast cancer research. It is brought to you by the marketing gurus of Lance Armstrong & Nike. The yellow one is for general cancer.

Do they glow in the dark?

Gee, I hope so! It would help these lost souls find themselves in the dark! That might be important for the next election?

<Relax, it's just sarcasm!>

  bracelets are retarded

if you are going to donate to a cause , just donate ...don't buy something that you can wear.

Is via buying girl scout cookies. I donated this year and in exchange I got some badass coconut cookies. F*ck bracelets, cookies for the win.

Kinda scary, considering there is a lot going on in the world right now that is similar to the book!

If there's one thing I've learned, it's never get involved with a political party, and never get worked up over whether or not your selection wins or not. What happened to SUPPORTING the President?

I'm not blue, I'm not red. I'm red, white, and blue...all at the same time.

  Nothing is doing to change

Totally waste of time and money in supporting Kerry rightnow. Better idea would be to support Bush in fighting war.
