Margaret Thatcher's Son Trying to Enter the US

Now that Sir Mark Thatcher admitted to being part of a coup plot and paid a £300,000 fine, he has applied for a visa to join his American wife Diane and their two kids in Texas. A visa is required for UK nationals who are convicted of felonies.

Sir Mark left South Africa and is in an unnamed third country while he waits for a visa. He was convicted for trying to overthrow the government of Equatorial Guinea. For this he pleaded guilty.

However, his lawyers point out that his crime was investing in a helicopter company that mercenaries were to use. They say he wasn't involved in planning the attempted coup. They say he thought it was for an air ambulance service.
