A construction worker who complained of toothache and visited his dentist to get to the “root” of the problem was surprised to hear he had a 4 inch nail embedded in the roof of his mouth as a consequence of using a nail gun at work.
Doctors told a TV station in Denver "This is the second one we've seen in this hospital where the person was injured by the nail gun and didn't actually realize the nail had been embedded in their skull."
Mr Lawler has been described by one physician as “the luckiest man ever” who added “if you're going to have a nail in the brain, that's the way you want it to be”.
