'Spies' Beheaded in Iraqi Street
 

Two “spies” were beheaded in the street in the insurgent stronghold of Ramadi today after being spotted leaving a US base in the center of the city.

A handwritten note left on the two bodies read “These are the rotten remains of two rejectionists (Shiites) who came to the city of Ramadi to support the occupying enemy,” the statement said. “The fate of every agent will be slaughter.”

Four other bodies were found in similar circumstances earlier on today.

What kind of spies get seen walking out of the US base? They, more than likely, wouldn't even meet there. It sounds like a good way to get rid of a few suspected insurgents would be to just arrest them and let them go. Once they leave the base they become marked as spies and are killed by their fellow insurgents.

these weren't just people they disliked and used this as an excuse to kill them and get away with it? Great way to get rid of people that piss you off. Accuse them of being traitors and kill them without recourse.

insurgents, and correct me if I am wrong, means they are not from the country, they are from other countries a lot of the people there dont want them around, they have spoken to one of the leaders in a 60 minute interview and he said they are more trouble then what they are worth, the come with no food, or a place to sleep and they become muchers, and cause 2,000lbs bombs to be dropped all over town. These are the same people that would have been kill on the spot pre-war by Saddam for cross the border. Funny how Saddam kept in line, take him out there is now no order.

maybe these "spies" weren't spies at all, but merely examples to any wannabe spies. Take some random Iraqi's, cut off their heads, call them spies...fear instilled.

Uuhhh....you are wrong actually. Not sure what gave you the idea that "insurgents" means that "they are not from the country"???

As jendres said, "insurgents" = "rebels".
