Mosul, Iraq - The Vatican announced that an Archbishop has been kidnapped in Mosul. Archbishop Basile Georges Casmoussa, 66, of the Syrian Catholic Church was abducted while walking in Mosul's eastern neighborhood of Muhandeseen.
Tens of thousands of Christians live in Mosul, a hotbed of terrorist insurgents. Many Christians there have been attacked in recent months.
It is unknown what the motive for the kidnapping is. The Vatican has demanded the Archbishop's release.
