Mother Charged with Killing 12-Year-Old Daughter for Having Sex
31 year old Tunisia Archie of Birmingham, Alabama was charged with the murder of her 12 year old daughter Jasmine for having sex. Archie allegedly forced her daughter to drink bleach and sat on her until she died while her 9 year old son watched.
Tunisia Archie told authorities she was disturbed because "her daughter told her that she was no longer a virgin." She then states that she poured bleach into Jasmine's mouth then sat on her until she stopped breathing.
Detective Cotton testified that Tunisia Archie forced Jasmine's 9-year-old brother Jacorey to watch the attack and "told him that if he shed a tear that she was going to kill him, too." If convicted, she could be given the death penalty.
for sure, killed one kid, ruined the others life forever, he'll never live a proper life after seeing that... the mental problem meter just blew into the sky.
She needs a slow painful death sentence so she can think about what she has done as she is slowly dieing and beg god for his forgiveness. After reading the article looks like she had full sound of mind and was able to explain to police in details what she did.
count on Amnesty International to provide defense attorneys for this lunatic. It seems that the worse the criminal is, the more likely it is that Amnesty International will crow about the criminal's right to exist. Kill the hag. Kill her now. Let the 9 year old do it.
With crimes this heinous, we need a punishment that fits the crime, no matter what people say about "cruel and unusual". People like this get a relative slap on the wrist compared to the treatment they handed out to their victims, and yet the civil liberties organizations still rant about giving the perpetrators more rights than ever. When will the general American populace finally realize that the current system of bending over backwards to ensure criminal rights just doesn't address anything toward deterrence? Why should anyone worry about being held accountable for actions when there's a guarantee of at least 15 years of being well fed and cared for at the state's expense before execution? In prison, they've probably got a better chance of staying alive longer than if they were still on the streets. I say limit the number of appeals to 1 per conviction, and make execution summary after loss of that appeal. Why drag it out for decades for the family of the victims? After all, they weren't given that by their attackers.....
@tomblik..well i think you went a little far with the 9 year old killing his own mother...but yea no remorse to her.
@dustyrider...And as for well fed and cared for...yea ok so you would rather be in jail instead of where you are now? yea right...that is so one sided looking at the only postive things of jail. You really think sharing a cell with someone else, who could be dangerous ...eating the same food all the time...having 1 hour of outside time....sharing the showers and bathrooms with others is something to be happy about? My personal opinion is...they are locked up for the rest of their lives, knowing they are there for what they did wrong. Some people go crazy staying in jail so long, i think the punishment is worse staying alive in a dump for so long knowing they are going no where in life. Not everyone is afraid of dying, like maybe you are, and it is easier deal with being killed than to live in jail.
As for just ending their life right away to stop the pain to the victims....well you know , not everyone believes in the death penalty (EVEN IF THEY ARE THE VICTIMS). A good example is Bill Cosby , after his son was murdered he and his wife requested to not have the death penalty.
Im not saying the death penalty is wrong or right, im just arguing the other side...but im sure the death penalty will be outlawed someday in the future :o
Make her swish bleach around her mouth every hour, while dropping ball bearings at a rate of one a second from a height of three metres onto each one of her joints as she lies, tied to a table, until she dies. Now... that would do.
which sounds better to you? a restricted existence where you can fill your days eating up taxpayer cash with frivolous lawsuits ("my ice cream melted, i'ma SUE")... or being tortured hideously to death by your own mother?
the woman thought she was doing the right thing. she's not going to spend her jail time tearing her hair out in regret... she's going to spend it telling everyone around her how she was doing the lawd's work and that little ho daughter got what she deserved.
i say, bring on the torture, that woman's earned it.
yea the ol' wasting my taxes line... gotta love it. Its funny how people don't see taxes being wasted in other ways, and they see prison people as the problem of "wasted taxes" .... and when did i say she was going to regret it ? i said she was going to know she was in prison for it. But i can sure as hell tell you she will think about all the years in prison she'll be spending...
i don't really care about the taxes thing, but i do think we should get to earmark which purposes what we pay goes towards. frankly i would far rather get robbed to pay for someone's well-deserved torture/death than someone's life's worth of crappy prison food. you pay for the mac&cheese, i'll pay for the roomful of angry wild boars they get tossed into after dinner. :)
Lawsuits being what they are these days, you could just take the warning labels off everything, ban lawsuits and let the "stupid" problem take care of itself. Surely this women, on her own would manage to tip over the washing machine on top of herself, spilling bleach in her mouth, and the thought of not being able to sue for it would surely kill her.
Cut her spinal cord so she is paralized. Poke her eyes out, stab her hears and cut out her tounge. Then make sure to keep her on life support, I'd be ok with 15,000 dollars going towards that instead of some child who needs surgery.
I liek to see the formation of a organization that operaes by hiring people to assinate crimals like this (almost like the punisher). Now that would make people think twice about there action if they know that a non govt entity is out there watching and will not stop untill justice is delivered.
this girl shouldn't have been having sex. While slow death or any kind of death is no proper punishment for her behavior, this girl should have at least been grounded until she's eighteen. There's no reason for a twelve year old to have sex. Maybe she was raped, that's another story, but if she's going out with teenage boys and screwing around at this age, we don't need her eggs and the seed of whoever is doing twelve years olds to be spread throughout this world. Just think, if she's responsible enough to have sex at twelve, I'm sure she's responsible enough to take care of a kid. Again, not excusing the mother's actions nor am I saying the girl deserved what she got, but I am saying the girl should have been punished.
i agree with you 100%. it's one of those tricky situations... her mother was clearly incapable of selecting and administering an appropriate consequence for the fact that her little girl was having sex. a rational parent would have come up with something other than killing the girl. then again, if the girl had been raised by thoughtful, rational parents she might not have been having sex at twelve. who knows?
Did this lady even make it to court? If you really wanna talk about "justice", and the true meaning of that word so many people use loosely. It would have been just and fair for the arresting officer to save us all the time and money by shooting this woman in the face when he responded to this scene.
This little girl "may" have done something wrong. We will never know. The mother sure as hell did the unthinkable here, and there is no excuse why she should be allowed to waste any more of our oxygen.
Yeah sure, a slow agonising death would be good as well, but sending this woman to her maker to answer for her deed would be justice.
The mother assumed the role of judge, jury and executioner.
Most people who are against capitol punishment claim it is cruel and unusual.
I believe it is cruel to keep a person on death row for years and years.
On the other hand, if the jury awards the death penalty, and every time a comedian gets the defendent laughing, before a guard puts a bullet in the back of his head, it is not cruel, and if it happens every time, it is not "unusual".
I have some jokes I would like to tell that mother.
I say give the mom the same punishment that she gave her daughter. No need to really have a trial when the son witnessed it, now is there? Save tax money and do the same to her - That poor girl, I have a 12 yr old, and luckily she's not interested in that -- yet -- She told her mom she wasn't a virgin, most girls would keep that from their mom - there's more behind this story, IMO
It has been interesting reading all of your comments about the tragic end of this young girl’s life.
I agree with the person who spoke about there being more to this case and that a rational parent would have behaved differently. It is quite obvious to me that this mother was not behaving rationally and that the inclusion of her young son in such abhorrent action is outrageous.
I am an Australian citizen and in this country we no longer have the death penalty, however, in this case and only being privy to limited information I would call for the mother to serve life imprisonment. During her time in prison and with the assistance of counselling, there will be times when she will feel remorse for what she has done.
Yes while at present the mother may believe that she has done the right thing, unless she is insane, which I do not believe for one minute, there will come a time for reflection and anger. Hopefully at some stage there will be acceptance and remorse for what she has done.
Remember that prison is not the best place to be and that there will be the daily taunts from other inmates. Many of them whilst being incarcerated themselves will still consider children to be precious and some will want to deal with this mother in there own way.
Ultimately, this woman will meet her maker, as we all do and she will be judged.
As for the little girl, her passing was traumatic and for all we know she may have been sharing with her mother to seek guidance about her dilemma of having had sex at a very young age.
In terms of the little brother, it will take a long time for him to recover, if in fact he ever does.
In situations like this, many of us feel the need to express ourselves in some way and in these times much of our expression is with great emotion and grief, but remember that when we suggest torment and torture we truly are no better than the mother.
This is a tragic situation for all concerned and my heart goes out to all concerned.
This happend nearly a year ago, so i guess she would have already been tried, convicted and proberly sitting in gaol right now. And considering that in mens prisions it is fairly normal to be raped, beaten and even killed, i would think that womens prisons would be just as harsh and i don't think taunts would be the worst they would do.
