Church Officials have communicated to the press the release of Archbishop Basile Georges Casmoussa who was kidnapped in the Iraqi city of Mosul 24 hours ago.
Potris Moshi, an assistant to the church leader said in a statement “He has been freed and he is on his way home without paying any ransom” .
This statement comes after earlier reports from the Catholic news agency MISNA that his captors were demanding a ransom of €143,000.
