iPod Users Can Now Download Football Game Recordings

Audible Inc. has struck a deal with the National Football League (NFL) to sell recordings of NFL playoff games and the Super Bowl to people who have iPods and/or other portable audio players. $10 is the price for a whole recording.

The downloads will be available the morning after the upcoming championship games. Versions with local sportscasters will be sold. Audible Inc. saw its shares rise 7.7% after the announcement was made.

Senior vice president of new media and publishing for the NFL, Chuck Russo, says: "This is not a replacement for watching games. It's really for fans who want a keepsake of the event or who to want hear the local call of the event."
