A second meeting between Player’s Union president Trevor Linden and the chairman of the NHL board of directors, Harley Hotchkiss has been scheduled for next week following five-hour long talks between the two in Chicago.
The second meeting, seen as a bid to save the NHL season, will take place in Toronto, Canada. The NHL players lockout has been going on since September and since then the union and the NHL board have met just three times.
Linden said of the talks: "We engaged in good dialogue today and will continue our discussions in the near future." Even if the recent talks were successful, more than half the 2004-‘05 NHL season has already been wiped.
