Sirius and XM Battle to Dominate Satellite Radio

Sirius and XM are working on handheld portable receivers in their bids to dominate the satellite radio market. XM already is the dominant player with 2.5 million subscribers, MLB games, "Opie and Anthony" and Honda and GM as partners.

Sirius has gained 800,000 subscribers after signing Howard Stern on, and it hopes its deal with Ford and Chrysler and airing of NFL games will continue to attract more people. One thing it has to contend with is XM's MyFy portable satellite radio.

Sirius is expected to announce a similar portable radio soon. The two companies are also working on a device that works with both networks but it could take years to hit the market. Meanwhile, the competition continues.

From what i know, not alot of people bought into the whole satelite radio. I think its just an irrelevent competition between to wanna be microshafts.

I don't know anyone who uses this...
...and I would never. Why would you pay for satellite radio when FM comes in pretty clear anyway? If you're so concerned about "cd quality" music, just listen to your mp3's on your ipod, or your cd player! Seems pretty worthless to me...

 What alot of bollock.

Aside from side-stepping regulation by the FCC, there is not much redeeming about Extra-terrestrial broadcast radio stations.

I also know of no one utilizing their services.

At this point, like in midget wrestling, who wins is of interest to an extreme minority.
