'Survivor' Winner on Tax Evasion Charges

Richard Hatch, the first winner of the "Survivor" TV series, currently faces charges of tax evasion for failure to declare over a million dollars in earnings from the reality TV show in 2000.

Hatch was ordered to surrender his passport and was released on $50,000 bond from the Federal court in Providence. The charges he faces carry a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment and a fine of $500,000.

Court documents which were filed earlier this month show that Hatch was prepared to plead guilty to the charges however this agreement is not binding and a he can still end up on trial.
