TV Indecency Fines Could be Raised in the US

A proposal in the House of Representatives seeks to up the maximum fine for repeated ‘bad’ language or nudity to a maximum of $3,000,000 and the addition of a three strike rule enabling them to revoke a broadcasting license.

Certain broadcasters are claiming that such legislation would impinge on their right to free speech. Supporters of the new measures claim that existing fines are not a large enough deterrent.

Land of the free my a$$
Only in america where we have the freedom osf speech and press can our freedom be removed by large corporations for money.

God bless America!

I believe it was only 4 or 5 years ago soap operas won a case to allow partial nudity on network Tv though never have to this date that I know of taken advantage of that.

Just my two cents enjoy

Now, tell me when this sounds familiar...
Article I - Congress shall make no law...abridging the freedom of speech...
why, that's strange...
No law...
No law...
No law...
No law...
Now...what could that possibly mean?

Seriously, if we stuck more closely to the spirit/letter/anything of our constitution, we could be a really good country. But we don't. And it shows.

  I wonder
why is using "bad" language - in other words normal words for most us ppl - banned on tv etc and showing dead or turtured bodies not.
If some fools on tv i'm LMAO and a litte bit public humilation should help zu educate them.
