Sex Sells at Sundance

Films at the latest Sundance Festival feature everything from oral sex, elderly sex, gay sex to teen sex. One film titled "Inside Deep Throat" is a documentary about the original porn movie. It contains explicit clips from the original flick.

The sex scenes have not hurt business. Film distributors have been bidding on Sundance films heavily this year. Hustle & Flow, a rap music film, has been bought by Paramount Pictures and MTV Films for $9 million.

"How the Garcia Girls Spent Their Summer" explores the sexual longings of 3 generations: a teenage daughter, her mom and her grandmother. The "Pretty Persuasions" director says "I don't think adults realize how rampant sex is in the culture today."

"Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from out of heaven. And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground. (Genesis 19:24-25)

It happened once for the same reasons, and it'll happen again.

  In a book I read...

an airplane went through some sort of rip in the fabric of time. This caused them to end up in a place, devoid of people, where big monsters with buzzsaw like teeth were flying around. Luckily they only got the lawyer. The survivors managed to get an airplane off the ground just as the monsters ate the last of the runway. They flew back through the "rip" and all but one guy eventually made it back to normal reality.

It happened once... and it'll happen again.

  Ding! Ding! Ding!

We have a winner! Guess that means my summary was at least somewhere in the ballpark. I didn't think anyone would have a clue. The book was called Four Past Midnight... or something to that effect.

I think the world is coming to an end! Again!
The first time was in 1000, then in 2000, and now in 2005... Everything is so fast now these days :/

the movie "Kids" was tame-see details below

http://www.variety.com/ "PARK CITY, Utah An 11-year-old boy spreads his semen over school lockers and repeats his father's filthy epithets when he blows a shot at tennis; a 16-year-old girl hangs her blood-stained sheet on the clothes line to let her father know she's lost her virginity; a 6- or 7-year-old boy proposes an exchange of bodily fluids in an Internet dialogue that might have given the characters in "Closer" pause; a 15-year-old stud becomes the heartthrob of a community's older women; a 14-year-old girl drugs and binds a man twice her age with the intention of castrating him.
These are just a few of the scenes that are being watched with barely a raised eyebrow in new American work at this year's Sundance Film Festival. It wasn't too many years ago that Larry Clark's "Kids" had to be screened here unannounced after midnight due to its explosive revelations of the sex-and-drug-drenched lives of young New York teens, and Miramax had to technically disassociate itself from the picture for fear of protests.

These days, "Kids" would hardly raise a fuss, as it would be one of just a dozen or so films that bluntly explore some of the things young people do when their parents aren't looking."

  Sex and Violence

"I don't think adults realize how rampant sex is in the culture today."

Y'know-- I think sex and war are very closely related. All these female teachers having sex with their students, a sudden rash of sex-related movies, Janet Jackson's exposed boob causes titillation..... and you have to admit it's more refreshing than seeing body-parts of war or disaster victims all over the evening news.

Just look at the post WWII babyboom generation, then the hippy 'love-generation' of the Vietnam era, and now we have horny people all over the place in the U.S. during a 'war' on terror with half of the population being very displeased with their current leaders.

Perhaps a surge in drug usage (Excstasy?) is next? 2005 will have another Summer of Love? Groovy.
