The World Wide Fund for Nature has announced that arctic polar bears and other species are in danger of extinction due to global warming. The WWF said the species’ could be extinct in just decades if nothing is done.
Tonje Folkestad, the WWF’s climate change expert, said: "If we don't act immediately the Arctic will soon become unrecognizable. Polar bears will be consigned to history, something that our grandchildren can only read about in books."
According to WWF research the world will be 3.6 degrees warmer in 2026 than it was in 1750. Eskimos and seals are also in danger.
