Australian tennis player Lleyton Hewitt has proposed to his girlfriend Rebecca Cartwright following yesterday’s loss to Russian Marat Safin in the Australian Open final. This is the second engagement for Hewitt.
According to a joint statement, the couple met each other five years ago and “rekindled their relationship” in the second half of last year. Both Hewitt and Cartwright recently broke up long-term relationships.
Cartwright stars in the Australian daily soap opera “Home and Away.”
