Yahoo Unveils Text Message Search Service

Yahoo! has added an SMS messaging search service to its list of services offered to users. The service is available to Yahoo Local customers, who can have the results of search queries sent to a mobile phone.

The service is a branching-out for Yahoo’s Mobile Internet Site which was launched late last year. The Send to Phone capability is supported by Cingular/AT&T Wireless, T-Mobile, Sprint/Nextel and Verizon Wireless.

The new Send to Phone service is similar to that of Google SMS, which was launched earlier last year.

  Bad Title
The grammar is such that it reads like a search service for text messages, instead of a search service supplied by text messages.

"Yahoo Unveils Searching by Text Message"

or something like that.

You can only convey SO much in a title and it IS a text message service which Yahoo are offering, just as the title says.

Your suggestion, Laurie, is no better, since the service only sends query results FROM a PC TO a cell phone - your suggested title reads as if a search query can also be submitted FROM a cell phone TO the PC, which it cannot.

Chill, guys.
