Corpse Abuser Answers To Relatives Of Deceased

LaFAYETTE, Ga - Ray Brent Marsh, a former crematory operator who plead guilty to 787 criminal counts including abuse of a corpse, theft, burial service fraud and making false statements, faced the relatives of the deceased in court.

Marsh, former operator of Tri-State Crematory, left 334 dead bodies on his property to decay rather than cremate them. He gave cement dust to the relatives of the deceased instead of ashes.

A relative of one of the deceased asked Marsh, 'Why did you do this?' There has to be a reason." Marsh just apologized and said he would later write a letter where he will "tell more."

  "Corpse Abuser"

sounds like he was molesting them.. I disagree with the term as it's used in this story..

While the term "corpse abuser" may conjur up images of necrophilia in your mind, thr fact is that Corpse Abuse is what the man was convicted of. The definition of which can be found in Georgia State Statutes and may or may not include necrophilia.

  This story is...

definitely about corpe abuse. This happened near my hometown and has dominated the news here for a long time. This guy took bodies that were supposed to be cremated and stacked and stuffed them wherever he could on his propety simply because the crematorium had broken down and he wouldn't get it fixed. A lot of people are upset at this yokel. If my loved one had been treated like this, I would consider it abuse. His property looked like a German gas chamber operation.

  I remember seeing...

pictures of this place. It looked like it was taken straight out of a horror movie. Bodies lying half buried and such. Freaky...

  he didn't answer

sorry but the title says the 'corpse abuser answers to the relatives of deceased', but he didn't answer, therefore the title is misleading, its an almost pointless report (if this story was reported on when this corpse abuser was first discovered).

  Paladin..

that made no sense. This is one of the biggest stories of the century in my neck of the woods. He has had his day in court in Georgia and now Tennessee. He had to sit there and listen to family members tell him exactly what they thought of him. On advice of his lawyers he only apologized to them and didn't come up with a logical answer to their questions, but the families felt better after confronting him. I'd dismiss your silly 9/11 conspiracy theories before I'd say this story isn't news. Who are you to judge what is news and what isn't, anyway?

jfury, thanks!

lurker, this has nothing to do with 9/11 (and btw, it wasn't my conspiracy theory, it was me linking questions related to 9/11 that i want answered, i never accused anybody (whether it be the US government or whatever) of anything).
And my issue was with the headline saying something that didn't happen, until the source article got updated just recently as JFURY pointed out.

People that don't post stories themselves shouldn't have an opinion.

I used to post a lot of news stories, I don't now simply because I don't have the time, I just enjoy the political discussion here. But what someone posts a misleading article, anybody should be allowed to point that out.

"biggest story in our neck of the woods"

A crematorium owner fails to roast the bodies like he should, stuffs them in old cars, under logs, and all over, and this is the biggest story you've had in awhile?

Perhaps in South or Central Georgia.

Atlanta has corpses being abused all the time nobody hears about. Their called "employees of the city." It should be criminal to employ people to work in those sewers on those roads.

They are the walking dead, and it does constitute corpse abuse to send them down there.

Chunt-tray folk see a few bodies laying about, that's the most tragic, most dramatic event they've seen in their life.

Try stepping over them on the sidewalk in Atlanta.

Sigh.

Get a life, lest these corpses be the the main event of it.

On a more pertinent note, I agree that anyone who goes through the bother of registering has the right to pipe up and critique an article.
