UK Trying to Tighten up Immigration Policy

The Brittish government proposed on Monday a policy with tighter immigration controls. The government also wants to fingerprint all non E.U. citizens that apply for visas to stop them from staying in the country after their visas expire.

The proposal is part of a European wide drive to tackle their immigration problems.

The proposal includes only letting skilled workers who already speak English to settle permanently. The EU justice and interior minister hope to have uniformed immigration and asylum policy.

Ohhhh, and let the U.K 'OLD' people rest in peace now because they have already did enough domination of world, ruining lives of many people.

Immigrants aren't bad, they are humans like us. They come for a better life, like every other human would do.

  @b4u

no one is debating that. the debate is for people who dont want to change anything except the size of their accounts. this bill is targeted at those who come over, start the emmigration process, and after the set amount of time still do not speek english. and for people who would end up on unemployment or flipping burgers at mcdonalds because thats all they know how to do. no one said here not to let any immigrants in, just the ones who dont care enough to learn the language or a vocation will be the ones not let in to the country

Hey, not trying to make you angry. But my view is completely different from yours. Anyhow I do not want to talk about this, it would rumble on 4ever. I do repect all the great heroes from any where in the world that fought for the good of us all. The problem is U.K's past history makes me little angry. :P

ganjaman22, Sorry "Tighten up Immigration Policy" means limiting immigrants in the country. Thats how I see it.

  Awwww.....

I find it ironic that many of those in the U.K. who scream and yell at people in the U.S. for not wanting Mexicans to pour through our borders are whining about immigrants coming to their country. Suck it up, hypocrites. Maybe these immigrants will 'do the jobs UK citizens won't do,' which is the excuse libbies have for not blocking Mexicans. Well, too friggin' bad, UKers. Those of you who think U.S. citizens are nasty for wanting to end illegal immigration, and now whine about immigrants coming to the UK, shut the hell up and eat it.

  Hold on....

I'm in the UK and I think that;

1) The US should introduce a policy for immigrants.
2) The UK should introduce a policy for immigrants.

I'm sure we will disagree on the contents but I'm not for a free for all for anyone.

I don't give a damn about what the US does with immigrants, illegal or otherwise, and I've yet to come across anyone in this country that does.
As far as the labour party goes, 8 years in office and now, right before a general election, they decide to do something? If there are any problems they have been created by them in the first place. Our current government has never had a policy on immigration. Don't even get me started on the asylum debate.

Domination of the world? I'm assuming that you mean back when Britain had an empire, which ended during the reign of Queen Victoria, who died about 100 years ago. I don't thinki anyone who helped with the empire is still alive, if they were they would surely be the oldest living human.

  Tony Blair at 2 minutes to midnight

Just before the election they are going to do something...yeah right. They're just running scared and trying to spin and cover all the bases as usual.
Their cynicism makes me sick but what really makes me sick is all the silly twats that believe all the spin.
Basically, we are full up in UK and anyone with half a brain cell could see that current levels are unsustainable. Perhaps Tony Blair should stop playing at 2nd in command world President and sort out the shit on his own doorstep.
Then again..as Milburn said. "Do you see a flying pig"
