Contrary to an earlier report which stated that the daughter of alleged BTK serial killer Dennis Rader turned him in, sources now say she did not turn him in. However, either the police or the FBI were able to get a DNA sample from her.
KAKE anchor Larry Hatteberg reported that it is unknown how authorities obtained Kerri Rader's DNA. Hatteberg said authorities probably had Dennis Rader under surveillance before they obtained the DNA sample.
Two more killings have been added to the 8 attributed to BTK. These include the murder of Marine Hedge in 1985 and Delores Davis in 1991. Because the murders happened before 1994, Rader cannot be sentenced to death.
