New Amazon System Raises Privacy Concerns

Amazon.com was last week awarded a patent for a new system that allows the online retailer to make a file for every customer, and track the gift-giving habits of the buyer. It is meant as a way to recommend gifts to the consumer.

Amazon will also have the ability to store the information given in a consumer’s book review, or product review, into the customer’s file. The online retail giant has said that the system is not yet in use, though privacy advocates remain worried.

Amazon has been hounded for years over their consumer tracking. One advocate said: “Amazon has continued to set the low bar for privacy on the Internet. It's almost no longer a surprise when the company announces some new way to profile people."

  I dont see the problem

They track everything you buy, wow.

What a crime, you dont want them storing that information, dont use them, go pay cash from a bookshop if you really care about your annonimity.
