Former UK Prime Minister Dies

 

Former Labour prime minister Lord James (Jim) Callaghan has died at the age of 92. He was prime minister between 1976 and 1979. The successor to Harold Wilson lost a General Election to Margaret Thatcher after turbulent political times.

Lord Callaghan is the only politician in UK history to have held all four major offices of state; prime minister, chancellor, foreign secretary and home secretary. His death came just 11 days after his wife Audrey passed away at the age of 91.

  He was a good guy from all accounts....  
 
I read some stuff about him a few years ago that said he always thought of the common man on everything he did... And did what he believed was the right thing...
