A couple expecting their first baby plan to have the birth in the DNA-Galarie; an art gallery in central Berlin. Winfried Witt the partner of Ramune Gele, who is the mother-to-be, said: "It's a gift to humanity, a once in a lifetime thing."
The owner of the gallery said: "It's a bit of [a] test to see if society can cope." The birth is scheduled for April 24 and around 30 people, who will be contacted as soon as Ramune's contractions become regular, are expected to attend the birth.
The gallery's owner says the gallery will be closed during the birth so "the private aspect will be maintained."
The owner of another gallery nearby said: "I find it mad."
