Truck Thief Demands Ransom for Man's Dog

A man left the keys and his dog inside his truck on his way into a convenience store, but the truck was then stolen along with his 11-week-old, two-pound Pomeranian-Maltese mix, named Dakota.

The owner says he had left his cellphone inside the truck and he called it-- and he says the thief answered. Then the thief made threats on the phone to kill the dog if police got involved -- and he demanded a $500 ransom.

The police were called and did get involved -- and they arrested the thief after he resisted arrest.
Both the dog and truck have been returned, and the owner says he will never ever leave “Dakota” alone again.
