Two Women with Filthy House Arrested for Neglect

A 3-year-old Florida girl was taken into protective custody and her Mother and Grandmother arrested when their house was discovered to be so filthy "there's no words to describe it" according to Winter Springs Police Capt. Mike Noland.

The girl's mother, Desirae Boyce, and grandmother, Linda Boyce are being held in jail pending their court appearance Wednesday afternoon. Neighbor Lucy Cazorla said, "They're very friendly, very friendly, but I never been into their house".

Neighbor Dennis Holley stated, "We see them come and go. We wave and say hello."

None of the neighbors were aware of the condition of the house until it was discovered by investigators.

  Quick note.

The source article did not state why investigators were at the house. I am curious about that, myself.

Also, there are a couple of pictures of the house in the source article. It is truly disgusting.

  Probably

They likely got a complaint about the living conditions.

  Ack!

I was just as shocked at the ugliness of these two chicks as I was to the mess. They kinda fit their environment.

  Makes me feel...

great about how my house looks. It won't be on parade of homes, but at least I don't have garbage and dishes 4 inches thick on my counters!! For once the police and child protective services are actually doing their job!

And my parents used to complain about my room.

At leat I didn't keep egg cartons and microwave meal boxes. I want to know how they managed not to lose the kid in that house.

  While being clean is good...

I don't think being filthy should be a jailable offense. You see the commercials for Christian Children's Fund where the kids are literally living in dumps, but no one is saying arrest the parents and throw them in jail. Extenuating circumstances may be involved in this case, but the part about the house being filthy equalling neglect of the child is ridiculous. Even the pictures show lots of kids toys, and I doubt there's a kid out there who wouldn't want to play in that livingroom; a game of hide-and-go-seek in that place would be fantastic.

  This house...

...is so dirty that I'm sure there's a disease issue. They have rotting food all over the place, and I'm sure they've got rodent and cockroach problems. Also, if someone neglects their property like this, then there's a very good chance that they are neglecting their children as well. Laziness spreads.

  It doesn't matter that

DCF agents took this girl away. Florida has probably the worst DCF system in the U.S. I hear more stories about kids being taken from one home and put in another equally horrible or even worse home than before. Lots of times ending up in sexual abuse or murder. Way to go Florida. Keep up the good work.
