Bannockburn, Ill-- Alicia Hardin, 19, confessed on Monday to sending threatening letters to fellow minority students at Trinity International University, a small Christian school near Chicago. She was arrested Tuesday, and is currently free on bail.
Hardin was unhappy at the school and sent three hate letters in an attempt to convince her parents that the school was unsafe. One letter sent to a black female student said, "I saw you in the chapel...I had my gun in my pocket but I wouldn't shoot."
Police say there was never a serious threat, but 40 minority students were moved to a hotel last week as a precaution. A school spokesman said, "..this wasn't really about race." 25% of students at the school are minorities.
