AOL Blunders and Releases Netscape 8.0 Unpatched

AOL, who owns Netscape, recently released Netscape 8.0 while touting of it's enhanced security. (SN Reported) According to developers of the Mozilla code, which Netscape and Firefox are based, the new version has vulnerabilities.

It seems that the same flaws that were patched in Firefox weeks ago were not patched when AOL released their newest version of Netscape. The flaws were rated as "critical" by monitoring company Secunia.

The flaws allow both scripting and remote system access if not patched. Netscape has been receiving a considerable amount of criticism about the matter from Mozilla developers.
