Vikings Sale Approved by NFL Owners

The Minnesota Vikings have been sold to a group fronted by New Jersey shopping centre developer Zygi Wilf. Former owner Red McCombs has started saying goodbye to his former employees, admitting he is sad to leave the club.

McCombs is a Texas billionaire, who became rich selling used cars in San Antonio. The sale of the Minnesota Vikings over to Wilf received unanimous approval from the owners of the teams that make up the NFL.

McCombs, in a letter to Vikings’ employees, said: "The league approval hit me with mixed emotions. I should have been excited … rather than feeling excited I realized I was walking away from a lifelong dream…” McCombs bought the Vikings in 1998.
