Landscaping Project Unearths Human Fetus

A woman discovered a decaying fetus wrapped in what appeared to be a woman's blue top buried in ten inches of mud. The woman, who did not want to be named, is the owner of the rented house and was doing some yard work when she dug up the fetus.

Police classified the case as an unattended death and are awaiting the autopsy outcome. They did not say whether it was full-term. Homicide investigators questioned the tenants, neighbors and the woman. No arrests were made.

Jean Domion, a neighbor, said she doesn't really know the tenants next door, but said she recalls seeing a pregnant woman there a couple of months ago but noticed nothing unusual in the week before the discovery.

  it's

only a fetus. Animals leave placentas and fetuses on the ground all the time. Usually they eat the placenta or dead baby.

  But....

the religous zealots consider a fetus the same as a full grown adult in terms of life. So I am sure someone will go to jail for premeditated murder 1 with intent (or something similiar). Although, it is strange that the fetus was not disposed of in a medical facility.

They don't know if it's a fetus or a baby

tests are underway to determine if it was a live birth or not.

  Oh come on!

Clearly the previous tenant had a miscarriage and buried the foetus in the back garden! I know at least two people who have done that. A miscarriage can be devastating, unfortunate, but is certainly not murder!

Why would she do that? The women I know had a miscarriage at something like 3 months. For one of them, it slipped out when she was on the toilet. Would you REALLY want to take it to a medical facility?
