London, UK - The Mercer group in its annual cost of living survey ranked Tokyo in Japan number one for the most expensive city to live in. London was ranked third, while New York City was ranked 13th, the highest US city in the survey.
The report released Monday compared 200 items including housing, goods and services in each of 144 cities around the world. The cheapest city checked was Asuncion, Paraguay.
The top five were, Tokyo & Osaka in Japan, London England, Moscow Russia, and Seoul South Korea. The next five were Geneva, Zurich, Copenhagen, Hong Kong, and Oslo. This is the second year Tokyo has taken first place.
