The suspect was tasered after a scuffle with police in a raid in Brimingham. He was taken to the high-security Paddington Green Police Station and interrogated. Police believe he returned to get more explosives after the failed bombing attempt.
Three others were arrested in Birmingham. Two, traveling on a train, were arrested by police who stopped the train. The raids took place at 4:30am by the Metropolitan Police Anti-Terroist Branch and west Midlands Police.
Bomb disposal experts are at the sites raided. Pakistani security have gathered up some 600 Islamic militants and clerics. More are expected to be rounded up. Some 295 of them belong to groups banned by the Pakistani President.
