Wal-Mart Pursuing Tommy Hilfiger

According to a story on the Women’s Wear Daily (subscription only) web site, Wal-Mart is interested in buying out Tommy Hilfiger. Wal-Mart is seriously pursuing the clothing designer and a deal may be finalized by Thanksgiving.

The asking price for Tommy Hilfiger is purported to be at least $1.82 billion, but may go as high as $2.16 billion according to the industry publication. Neither Wal-Mart nor Tommy Hilfiger would comment on the possible merger.
