Remote Control Humans

Nippon Telegraph & Telephone Corp. of Japan has developed a technology that allows for the control of a human by remote control. A special headset is worn and a very low voltage current is passed into the ears to manipulate the sense of balance.

“The phenomenon is painless but dramatic. Your feet start to move before you know it.” Says subject and reporter Yuri Kageyama. The current causes an “irresistible urge” to keep your balance by walking in the direction that the current dictates.

The company hopes to develop this technology to enhance video game experiences. Attached to a driving simulator, the device accentuates visual input of a car racing around a track with real physical sensations.

  wasnt enough room
to mention al the other applications liste din the source, but they range from studying a gymnist's sense of balance to weaponization of the technology to create a non-lethal incapacitation device.

Sounds like a trip. I'd like to try out a video game hooked up to one of these things
