Harriet Miers Withdraws Nomination

On Thursday, President Bush accepted Harriet Miers withdrawal as a Supreme Court Nominee. Miers was concerned that the confirmation process would burden the White House and its staff.

Bush said "It is clear that senators would not be satisfied until they gained access to internal documents concerning advice provided during her tenure at the White House."

"-- disclosures that would undermine a president's ability to receive candid counsel."

Miers was nominated earlier this month to replace Sandra Day O'Connor.

  bush's "advisors" = harding's ohio gang
 history repeating itself...

Harding messed up in the public's eye many times...Bush is doing THE SAME THING.

Harding was ran by his "friends" and he elected his "friends" into the highest positions...Bush is doing THE SAME THING.

Harding went down as the worst president of the century in many historians minds...

I think you'll get the rest

  I agree with Bush
Never thought I would write that!
But yes the information obtained by presidents in that situation should be able to remain confidential.

However Miers should never have been put forward in the first place.
