Michael Brown Discussed Wardrobe During Katrina Crisis

Newly-released emails now show how America’s former disaster agency director, Michael Brown discussed his wardrobe during the crisis caused by Hurricane Katrina and was preoccupied with his image on television.

In one of the e-mails Brown writes “I got it at Nordstroms”, “Are you proud of me? Can I quit now? Can I go home?” An hour later, he added ”If you’ll look at my lovely Fema attire, you’ll really vomit. I am a fashion god.”

The e-mails also show how Brown’s aide, Sharon Worthy told him to … “ROLL UP THE SLEEVES!” adding that even the president “rolled his sleeves to just below the elbow” in order to look more hardworking.

Is he _still_ on the FEMA payroll???? If so... WHY?!

  My first reaction...
to these emails was, "Meh, the guy probably sent a lot of emails." But thinking about it further, when you're the guy in charge of a disaster which has destroyed a significant portion of the country, at which time many people will live or die based on relief efforts your department is coordinating, I cannot even imagine how any remotely competent person would even begin to consider fashion or image, even in jest. Of course, the answer to that in terms of Brown is right there. I could just see him as being the guy who clubs himself into last place in Monty Python's "Upper Class Twit of the Year" competition.

  What to wear...hmmm
C'mon people, give ol' brownie a break will ya?

I mean, the poor guy was hungry and just wanted to wear something decent to view the bodies of the dead.

Besides, nothing says "ignore those criminal elements of poor black and white people" than a three piece tuxedo, right?

He had more pressing things to do, so let's just move on, ok?

Besides, I did see footage of Brownie offering a drowning woman and her baby a glass of water :)
