Bose Makes Hopping Car

Bose designed a new suspension system for high end autos that can actually make a car hop over obstacles in the road, like pot holes.

Amar Bose famous for his contributions to the audio industry has been secretly working on a new suspension system since the mid 1980s.

The new suspension system is very revolutionary but it is rather costly at $5,000 added cost and adds several hundred extra pounds to the total weight of the car.

  LOL
Ok ok u all remember knight rider right? LOL or or lol speed racer?!!!!! LOL so now its my turn to hit the turbo boost and press the jump and fly over a tracker trailer! LOL they BETTER had this shit in the next GTA and just effin jump over the cop road blocks lol or jump into ppl while going 50 and chop them in half. But I garuntee there will b problems with this, ppl will get crushed, or ppl will bottom out or if u hop and end up falling into a pot hole and blow a tire out so where on the road is there just 1 pot hole and no 1 in front of behind u AND u gott hit the button on the steering wheel and keep your pepsi in your hand so it doesn't spill, plus if u have infants in the car, u can't jump, so wtf. There won't be reasonable just a gimick, 50 cent will get it and FMF and maybe big in LA but will b a fad, that's it.

  The car doesn't hop
the car's suspension just lifts the wheels as it drives over something and you never feel it. Pretty awesome =)

But what happens when people drive over those speed bumps that are soposed to make people drive slow? 0.0

HAX!

  "The reasonable gimmic"
drekk had said that there is no reasonable gimmic but there is one. cornering and probably overall performance improvement. this was mentioned in te source article. but in my experience hard shocks are the way to go. sure if you run over a twig its like running over a cinder block, but it eliminatess body roll around corners. so now with this i could have a soft shock ride with the performance gains of hard shocks.
as for the extra weight AWESOME! having an extra hundred or so pounds almost directly over the wheels will greatly increase the friction force acting on the tires, thus decreasing the distance that my car slides when i take a sharp turn at 50+ mph; thereby allowing me to take sharper corners faster. and all with a nice smooth ride.
however, its computer controlled. for me thats a huge drawback. I only want the starter motor, spark plugs, headlights, interior lights, and gauges powered by electricty. thats right no radio, the only sound i need is the roar of the engine.

  Read about this last yr
Read about this last yr in Motorage Nov 2004 edition. They installed this system on a Lexus. Which consists of linear electromagnetic motors on each wheel. They use a mcpherson strut setup and torsion bars (no coil springs). Was intersting reading as I repair cars for a living. And if this becomes a actual install much like air bags did. I will more than likely have to buy more tools and attend more classes.
